The story is set in the Indian film industry of the 1970s and the present day. Ohm, a supporting actor, falls in love with the popular actress Shanti. However, she is secretly married to and pregnant by the influential producer Mukesh. Mukesh, who begins to resent her presence, plans to murder Shanti in a staged accident.
