Antique Dietz No. 6 bell bottom railroad oil lantern stamped for the New York Central Railroad. This piece features the iconic, heavy solid cast steel bell base that provided maximum stability on moving trains. Built with a robust double-wire cage frame. Manufactured by the R.E. Dietz Company in New York prior to World War I. Shows a magnificent, aged metal patina throughout the chimney dome, protective cage, and oil fount.
