Vintage hand-woven coiled rye straw rattan wicker basket with an iron leaf and frame. The basket is made from natural, durable materials like rye straw and rattan. It features a coiled weaving technique and a lid with a decorative metal leaf. It is used for storage or as a decorative piece in home decor. Similar items are sometimes marketed as apple for teacher baskets but this one is rare as it is oblong shaped and very hard to find. I would easily suggest it may be over 50 years old.
