These are fabric zori (Japanese sandals) made from new, unused yukata and tenugui (hand towels).
The main feature is that the size can be adjusted by loosening the knot on the hanao (strap).

These fabric zori are durable because they are carefully and tightly woven using a generous amount of fabric.

Initially, the space between your toes may feel tight, but you will get used to it with wear.
