Japanese-made, seamless! Tamo wood batoning stick that's gentle on your knife for splitting firewood!!

US Size:

This wooden mallet is carved by Japanese artisans from a single piece of ash wood. It's less likely to damage your knife compared to ironwood, making it ideal for batoning or as a one-handed mallet for knives.
It's perfect for splitting firewood for your wood stove into smaller pieces.

Ash wood is famously used for professional baseball bats. While not as hard as ironwood, it possesses toughness and flexibility, making it resistant to cracking and providing strong rebound. It's a durable material that's gentle on knives.

The handle is smoothly finished, but the head, designed for striking, is left with a rougher texture.

Weighs approximately 275g, making it easy to swing!
Head diameter: approx. 6 cm.
Total length: approx. 24 cm.
Finished with oil and beeswax.
