Vintage 3D House Hand Painted Needlepoint Canvas Architectural Cottage 1980s

A wonderfully unusual vintage needlepoint canvas from Decorations, part of the Crazy Quilts in Needlepoint series. Inspired by traditional crazy quilting, the square design is divided into irregular geometric patches in a sophisticated palette of terracotta, dusty rose, teal, plum, ochre and warm neutrals. Several of the sections incorporate whimsical motifs and linework, including a duck, decorative bird and floral details, giving the canvas the eclectic, collected appearance associated with antique crazy quilts. The hand-painted canvas provides plenty of opportunity for decorative stitches and varied textures, making this an especially interesting project for a stitcher who enjoys experimenting beyond basic tent stitch. Even better, the original stitch guide is included, providing guidance for completing the different sections of the design.
