Garay Vintage Black Velvet Evening Clutch with Gold Tone Clasp and Embellishment

This beautiful velvet fold over clutch has been well cared for. The corners show minor wear (please see all photos) but overall, the velvet is in good condition for its age.  All of the stones on the clasp are there.  The clasp tilts forward, and this enables the bag to be opened.  All measurements in photos. Immaculately clean on the inside.  One slip pocket.   Garay & Co., Inc. was a prominent mid-century American handbag and belt manufacturer founded in 1937 in New York City by Hungarian immigrant Arnold Garay alongside partner Morris Moskowitz. Operating through 1982, the company built an expansive footprint, distributing its highly coveted, high-fashion accessory lines to over 6,000 retail stores by 1953.
