Description
Grimwades Royal Winton salt and pepper shaker set with matching tray, featuring the Old Cottage Chintz pattern. This vintage set was produced for Wright Tyndale & van Roden Inc. and showcases a dense, colorful floral chintz design with pink roses, purple anemones, and blue forget-me-nots over a textured white honeycomb ground. The pieces are finished with a delicate gold gilt rim. The shakers are a squared-off dome shape and sit perfectly within the scalloped, two-compartment tray. Both shakers retain their original cork stoppers. The underside bears the circular Grimwades Stoke on Trent England backstamp along with the specific pattern name and importer mark. This English earthenware set is a classic example of early to mid-20th-century chintzware, known for its vibrant transferware application and high-gloss glaze.
