Vintage Ukrainian Woven Tablecloth Red Black Slavic Folk Fringe 44x62 Cotton EUC
The Unbranded Brand
Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Eastern European folk art tablecloth featuring a traditional Ukrainian geometric design. This piece is crafted from a white cotton base with heavy, textured geometric stripes running the full length of the cloth. The striking red and black colorway mimics the iconic styling of traditional rushnyk ritual textiles and vyshyvanka folk garments. Symbolism: In Ukrainian folklore, white represents purity or life, red represents love, energy, and joy, and black represents the earth and protection. The Layout: The repeating geometric bands running down the length and pooling at the edges mimic the design layout of a traditional rushnyk (ritual folk towel) or a modern vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt) adapted into table linens. Please note that the design is completely loom-woven into the fabric using a heavy pattern-weft technique (not a modern screen print), giving it a wonderful raised texture and premium weight. It is finished on the short ends with a soft, self-fringed edge. Perfect for adding a touch of rustic boho, global eclectic, or traditional Slavic charm to your dining space or holiday table! Approx Dimensions (Including Fringe): 44 W x 62L Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no major stains, holes, or pulled threads. The weave is tight, and the fringe is intact. (Please see all photos for details on the beautiful woven texture). There are a few minor spots as pointed out in pictures. From a smoke free home.
